Hi! My name is Emily. I am a third-year DU student studying International Studies and Sustainability, and I am also the Career Peer Advisor in the Career Services Center. I transferred here from Front Range Community College last quarter and I have since been enjoying being active on campus through my job and the other various on-campus activities with which I am involved. My job as the Career Peer Advisor is especially rewarding because I am learning so much and I have the opportunity to work with my peers on various aspects of their career development.
Recently I have set up shop in the Writing Center of the Anderson Academic Commons from 3:00-5:00 pm on Wednesdays for the remainder of Winter quarter. Please come find me there! If you bring a copy of your resume I will review it with you and offer suggestions. I am also available to give feedback on cover letters, interviewing techniques or answer any other questions you may have.
For the remainder of the quarter on Thursdays from from 6:00-8:00 pm I will also be located outside of the dinning hall in Centennial Halls to help with resumes or answer any questions related to career development. Even if you are not a resident there, you are welcome to come ask questions and get help.
For clubs and on-campus organizations, I can do specialized presentations. I have tons of helpful resources, worksheets, and workshops. I would be happy to prepare a specifically tailored presentation on whatever you think would meet the needs of your group and I can come to one of your meeting so you don’t have to come to us!
Please feel free to contact me and let me know how I can help YOU.
